The 2022
Honda
Civic packs a big punch for such a historically little car. The 11th-generation model’s redesign gives the car a modern, mature new look, and Honda updated its interior with all the latest infotainment and safety features.
Prices start at a very reasonable $22,700, but for only $3,000 more you can upgrade to the EX trim, which comes standard with a 180-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
With eight different trims, anyone can find a Civic to fit their lifestyle. And with so many standard features, you can be sure you’re getting your money’s worth, no matter what version you choose.
Honda appears to have another gem with the 2022 Civic.

Choosing a 2022 Honda Civic: all your trim options

For a model that’s been popular since the ‘70s, you’d think Honda would’ve run out of ideas for the Civic. But this year’s facelift shows how consistently attractive the car is. The exterior is decidedly minimalistic while holding true to the model’s aesthetic.
The trims fall into four categories, all of which will be offered as a sedan or a hatchback.
Car and Driver
says the hatchback models are all available with manual transmission.
The base LX models come with automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist. Staying under $25,000, the Sport gets some snazzy upgrades, like gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels, remote ignition, an eight-speaker audio system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter.
But the fun really starts with the mid-level EX trim. Besides the power boost from the upgraded engine, the EX trim also includes blind-spot monitoring, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated exterior mirrors, and heated front seats. Not bad for a car that’s less than $26,000.
For another $3,000, the Touring sedan and hatchback offer classic luxury upgrades like leather upholstery, added infotainment options, and more driver assistance sensors. But take away the gadgetry and you have pretty much the same car as the EX.
Two other trims, the Sporty Si and the Type R, are still in the works but are expected to offer higher performance and what
Edmunds
calls a "spicy appearance."
