background
The 2022 Honda Civic utilizes a 5x4.5 (read: 5 on 4.5) bolt pattern, meaning that each wheel has five bolts that form a circle 4.5 inches in diameter.
The Civic has become one of the world’s most popular small sedans. It’s affordable, fun to drive, and offers more cargo space and a higher fuel economy than many of its competitors.
It’s also one of the most customizable vehicles on the market. So, if you’re thinking of outfitting your
Honda
with sweet new wheels, you’ll need to acquaint yourself with its bolt (aka lug) pattern.
Not sure what that means? Read on—we’ll tell you all about it.

2022 Honda Civic bolt pattern

All Honda Civics from 2006 to the present have a bolt pattern of 5x4.5. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what that means, because we’ll tell you. No matter the vehicle, virtually all lug patterns are represented by the following formula:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
To that end, the 5 on 4.5 pattern tells us that each of your 2022 Civic’s wheels has five bolts that form a circle with a diameter of 4.5 inches.

This is important to keep in mind, but there are a few other measurements you should know if you plan on swapping out your wheels sometime in the future:
  • Factory wheel size: 16” to 18”
  • Stud size: M12x1.5
  • Offset: 15 to 60mm
  • Center bore: 64.1 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 108 Nm

How to measure your Honda Civic’s bolt pattern

Using the measurements listed above, you should be able to swap out the wheels on your Civic with no problem. You don’t have to take our word for it, though, because there’s also a way that you can measure your lug pattern for yourself.
All you need is a measuring tape or even a ruler. Start by choosing a bolt and measuring from the outside edge of the bolt hole to the center of the opposite lug. Keep in mind that since the Civic has a total of five bolts, measuring straight across won’t put you directly on the opposite lug. You can get around this by picking either of the nearest bolts and measuring to the center of it.
The number that you end up with is your diameter. Combine that with the number of bolts on the entire wheel, and voila! You have your bolt pattern.
