How to Get Apple CarPlay on a Chrysler Pacifica

Apple CarPlay is available as a standard feature in models of the Chrysler Pacifica from 2018 or later.
Since the introduction of Apple CarPlay in 2014, it has become a feature offered by almost all major vehicle manufacturers. CarPlay is Apple’s technology system that connects the user’s iPhone to the vehicle’s infotainment system. From the vehicle’s head unit, drivers can easily access audio, navigation, and messaging without becoming distracted.
Although CarPlay is available in most new cars, some models from even a few years ago lack this functionality. Chrysler began adding Apple CarPlay to their vehicles as early as 2017, but the Chrysler Pacifica only received this upgrade beginning in 2018.

Does the Chrysler Pacifica have Apple CarPlay?
It depends. Apple CarPlay connectivity is a standard feature on the 2018 through 2023 model years of the Chrysler Pacifica. It is not available in earlier models.
Apple CarPlay availability depends on which version of Chrysler’s infotainment platform, Uconnect, your vehicle has. You can access Apple CarPlay if your Chrysler has a Uconnect 5 system or a Uconnect 4 system with a 7-inch, 8.4-inch, or 12-inch touchscreen. Vehicles with a Uconnect 5 system support wireless integration but Uconnect 4 systems do not.
Chrysler vehicles with older versions of Uconnect can still access smartphone and entertainment features like Bluetooth audio streaming and integrated voice command but not through the Apple CarPlay interface.
How to enable Apple CarPlay in a Chrysler Pacifica
For owners of Chrysler Pacificas from the 2018 through 2023 model years, using CarPlay is simple. First, ensure that you are using an iPhone 5 or newer with iOS 7.1 or newer. Next, connect your iPhone using a lightning cable. Once your Pacifica detects that your phone has been connected, the Apple CarPlay screen will appear automatically. If it doesn’t, you can select the Apple CarPlay logo on your Uconnect screen.
If your Pacifica uses uConnect 5, you have the option to enable CarPlay wirelessly. Wireless connection requires an iPhone 5 or newer with iOS 9.1 or newer. To connect wirelessly, ensure that WiFi and Bluetooth are enabled on your iPhone. Next, on your Chrysler Pacifica’s touch screen follow Apps > Device Manager > Add Device. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Select your vehicle’s name from the Bluetooth discovery list. Accept the pairing and the CarPlay requests that appear on your iPhone and you’re set!
