Meet the biggest Hyundai SUV: the Palisade

Weighing up to 4,506 pounds and measuring 196.7 inches long, the 2023 Palisade is the fourth iteration of Hyundai's three-row SUV, beating out the Santa Fe as Hyundai’s biggest SUV.
There’s a lot more to the Palisade than its sheer magnitude. Comfortably seating up to eight passengers, the cabin just may shock you with its next-level quality and materials—you might just think you’re in a Genesis GV80! Powered by a solid 3.8-liter V6 engine, the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 lbs on top of the 86.4 cubic feet of cargo space
But there’s more. The 2023 Palisade gets a combined 22 mpg, a solid fuel economy for this class. And despite its size, the Palisade manages to reach 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. The Palisade is also stacked with entertainment features like Bluetooth, navigation, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and up to seven USB ports. With Hyundai’s Blue Link app, you can even lock the Palisade remotely.
Finally, the Palisade keeps you safe with standard driver assistance features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control
The best part? You can get all of this at a starting price of just $36,245. Want more? Check out the tables below for the exact details for Hyundai’s largest SUV.

We know the Palisade is spacious, but just how spacious are we talking? Here’s how the exact measurements check out for the 2023 model—but keep in mind that they may vary for other models.

Engine and performance

An SUV the size of the Palisade needs a hefty engine. Shockingly, every model of the Palisade sports the same 3.8-liter V6 engine no matter the trim. This engine gets 291-horsepower @ 6000 RPM and 262 lb-ft @ 5200 RPM of torque.
The Palisade is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the choice slightly affects the fuel economy. The front-wheel drive model gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway while the all-wheel drive gets 25 mpg on the highway instead.

Cargo and towing

Passenger capacity is crucial for a big SUV, but cargo space is just as important—especially for any traveling you plan to do. The Palisade is fairly roomy:
  • Cargo volume behind first row: 86.4 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind second row: 45.8 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind third row: 18 cubic feet
While 18 cubic feet isn’t the worst, major competitors like the
Kia Telluride
offer more space—21 cubic feet, to be exact. Even so, the total cargo capacity of the Palisade should be plenty for most drivers.
Now that you know how much the Palisade can haul on the inside, let’s look at how much it can tow on the outside. When properly equipped, the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds. This is pretty standard for this SUV class, but if you’re needing a bit more capacity, the
Jeep Grand Cherokee L
can handle up to 7200 pounds.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
