What is the Ford Maverick XLT Luxury package?

The Ford Maverick XLT Luxury package is an add-on option on the 2023 Maverick XLT trim, the middle trim out of three. If the whole package is more than you need to enjoy your Maverick XLT, Ford now offers most of the Luxury package features available as stand-alone options, too.
The XLT Luxury package is just one of several optional packages you can add to the 2023 Maverick XLT. There’s also the Tremor Off-Road package or the FX4 Off-Road package for off-road enthusiasts, and the Black Appearance package or the Tremor Off-Road Plus Appearance package to boost the Maverick XLT’s exterior looks. For added safety features, you can also add the Ford CoPilot 360 package to your truck.
The XLT Luxury package includes the following upgraded features:
  • Eight-way power driver and six-way manual passenger seats
  • 400W inverter with a rear console USB port
  • Heated side mirrors with body-color skull caps
  • Heated seats
  • Soft vinyl-wrapped heated steering wheel
  • LED box lighting
  • Trailer hitch receiver with a four-pin connector
  • Windshield wiper de-icer
  • Full-size spare tire for hybrid models
These features are great, but this is a downgrade from the previous model’s XLT Luxury Package, which included a remote start system, bed tie-down locking rails, a drop-in bedliner, and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.

What it does

Basically, the XLT Luxury package adds the option of higher-level features without having to upgrade to the top Lariat trim—and even then, you might have to upgrade to the Lariat Luxury trim to get some of the features anyway. For example, the windshield wiper de-icers, heated seats, heated mirrors, LED box lighting, and the trailer hitch are still not standard features on the Lariat.
The XLT Luxury package won’t add extra capabilities to your Maverick, but it will make it more comfortable and convenient.

How much is the 2023 Maverick XLT Luxury package?

These are all awesome features to add—but don’t these sorts of packages usually cost a fortune?
For the 2023 model, the XLT Luxury package will only set you back $1,730. Not too bad for all of the upgraded features you’re getting! Here’s how that compares to the other additional package options:
  • XLT Luxury package: $1,730
  • FX4 Off-Road package: $800
  • Black Appearance package: $1,645
  • Tremor Off-Road Plus Appearance package: $2,995
  • Ford CoPilot 360 package: $650

Is the XLT Luxury package worth it?

If you want extra convenience and finer touches for your Maverick without spending the extra money to upgrade to the Lariat trim, the XLT Luxury package is probably worth it.
However, if you can spring for a trim upgrade, going for the Lariat trim is the better deal. Upgrading will only cost about $1,770 more, and it comes with much of the XLT Luxury package features on top of a few more. The Lariat’s standard features include Intelligent Access with push-button start, ActiveX upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat dual USB ports, an acoustic windshield, and a power sliding rear window.

The bottom line

If you prefer sticking to the basics in most areas but prefer the modern luxuries of power-adjustable or heated seats, opting to add the XLT Luxury package may be worth it. However, if you can stretch your budget, upgrading to the Lariat trim provides more bang for your buck.
