If you've been locked out of your Chrysler car radio, you can find the radio code to unlock it by checking your owner's manual, calling customer service, or by using your radio unit serial number.
If you own a Chrysler, then there's a good chance that your car stereo has a radio code security measure. This means that if you disconnect the battery—or if the battery dies—you'll probably be locked out of your radio until you enter the required radio code.
Of course, most people don't know their radio code by heart. If you don't know what the security code is for your radio, don't worry. There are a few quick and easy ways to recover your Chrysler radio code with a little help from

Why do I need a Chrysler radio code?

Requiring vehicle owners to enter a security code every time their battery dies (or if it is disconnected) might seem unnecessary—and more than a little annoying. But believe it or not, this system has a very practical purpose.
Because they are small, simple to remove, and relatively easy to resell, car radios have always been a favorite target of petty thieves
While inconvenient, radio codes are an effective deterrent for would-be thieves. The car radio is essentially a chunk of useless plastic without the code. So, anyone removing it from your car couldn’t use or sell it.

How to find your Chrysler radio code

Fortunately, finding your Chrysler radio code should be pretty quick if you still have your owner's manual. Inside, you'll find a small card labeled “Anti-Theft Radio Code” or something similar. That card should have the four-digit radio code printed on it.
If you don't find the card inside your owner's manual—or if you don't have the owner's manual anymore—you can also try checking the glove box for the anti-theft radio card.

How to look up your Chrysler radio code

As mentioned above, you can always call a certified Chrysler dealer or Chrysler’s customer service. However, before you do so, you will need to
verify your vehicle identification number
(VIN). You may also need your radio’s serial number
You can find your vehicle's VIN located in the owner's manual, on your insurance card, on your
vehicle registration
, or the door jamb on the driver's side.
Your radio’s serial number should be on your radio’s casing—normally the top or side. The serial number usually begins with a “T.” If you can’t remove your radio’s casing or you’re worried about breaking it—don’t stress! A Chrysler service center can help.
