2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport configurations

The 2022 Range Rover Sport has seven trim levels, from the base level SE to the top-tier SVR Carbon Edition. One of these trims has two possible engines, making eight configurations available to drivers.

Range Rover Sport SE

Starting price: $70,900 MSRP
This is the entry-level Range Rover Sport trim outfitted with a 3.0L turbocharged i6 engine, a mild electric-gas hybrid (MHEV). Though it’s the least expensive trim, it still has plenty to offer in the way of performance and convenience. Here are some of the highlight features of the SE:
  • 12.3-in touchscreen display
  • Electronic air suspension that raises the height of the vehicle
  • Grained leather seating
  • Range Rover’s Terrain Response system for driving in different off-road conditions
  • Meridian auto system
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Wireless AppleCarplay and Android Auto compatibility
Fuel economy stands at 19 mpg city / 25 mpg highway, which is not too impressive overall but par for the course for a Range Rover.

Range Rover Sport HSE Silver Edition

Starting price: $80,100 MSRP
The HSE Silver comes with two engine options: a 3L 6-cylinder mild electric hybrid (MHEV) with 355 horsepower and a 2L 4-cylinder plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) delivering 398 hp. The PHEV version had limited availability upon release, so you may have to hunt for a while to find one used.
The HSE Silver upgrades the SE to include new luxury features like:
  • A panoramic sliding roof
  • 19-speaker Meridian surround sound system
  • 21-in gloss black and diamond-turned alloy wheels
Fuel economy is 21 mpg combined for the MHEV and 19 mpg combined for the PHEV—you can expect to pay quite a lot for gas since you’ll be filling up often with
premium fuel

Range Rover Sport HST

Starting price: $85,700 MSRP
The HST upgrades the engine to a sporty P400 3.0-liter, 395-horsepower engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The configurable dynamics function keeps track of your wheel and body positions to improve your ride experience. Red brake calipers and black alloy wheels up the athletic feel of this trim.

Range Rover HSE Dynamic

Starting price: $89,300 MSRP
The HSE Dynamic further improves your driving experience with a supercharged 5.0L engine capable of an impressive 518 horsepower and a dynamic response air suspension. In exchange for these upgrades, though, expect your fuel economy to take a hit.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic

Starting price: $100,500 MSRP
The Autobiography Dynamic maintains the 518-hp P525 engine discussed above and adds an extra layer of lush, with features like soft-close doors and heated and cooled 22-way power front seats coming standard on the trim.

Range Rover Sport SVR

Starting price: $117,800 MSRP
If paying nearly $100,000 for a 525-horsepower engine wasn’t enough for you, the SVR ups the ante further with a 575-hp engine that goes from 0-60 mph in a speedy 4.3 seconds. The light body weight combined with the souped-up sport suspension promises to deliver the quickest Range Rover performance yet.

Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition

Starting price: $132,600 MSRP
The SVR Carbon isn’t too different from the SVR except for the exposed carbon fiber hood that lends the trim its name. You’ll also find carbon accents on the heated steering wheel and illuminated aluminum door sills. Of course, even for some Range Rover enthusiasts, these top-of-the-line features may not be necessary.

The bottom line

If you’re looking at a 2022 Range Rover Sport, you have eight possible configurations (seven trims, one with two engine options). Land Rover is steadily implementing the MHEV and PHEV options into the lineup, but this doesn’t eliminate the issue of subpar fuel efficiency. But if you’re buying a Range Rover, you’re likely more concerned with the luxury comfort that the brand consistently delivers.
“I heard about
Jerry
through a podcast and decided to try it out. My 2008 Range Rover Sport was costing me $168/month before Jerry found me the exact same coverage for $84/month under Plymouth Rock. I’ll definitely keep shopping for insurance with Jerry.” —Eileen P.
