Why your 2015 Honda Civic needs a radio code

While it might seem strange to require a code for your radio to work, these magical numbers serve a greater purpose than you might think. Since a car’s sound system is rendered useless without the code, these numbers were created to deter radio theft
However, a stolen radio unit isn’t the only time the code is required. If your Honda’s battery was recently replaced, you’ll need to enter the code to regain the system’s radio functions. If you’re unsure where to find the code, these handy little numbers can become a major inconvenience.

How to find your 2015 Honda Civic radio code

Fortunately, you can regain access to your 2015 Honda Civic’s radio in a few simple ways. In most cases, you can reset your system by pressing and holding the power button on your Honda for two seconds. Your radio system should start working again without having to enter the code.
If this doesn’t work, you’ll have to enter the radio code. Check for a sticker with the 5-digit code inside your glove box or owner’s manual. The radio code is numerical, so if you find anything with letters, it isn’t what you need.

How to look up a 2015 Honda Civic radio code

If the sticker on your glove box was scratched off or you’ve misplaced your manual, don’t worry. You can retrieve the code using your 17-digit
vehicle identification number
(VIN) and the radio serial number.
You can locate your Honda’s VIN at the base of your windshield on the driver’s side, your insurance card, financial services statement, or your vehicle’s registration.
To find your serial number, press and hold buttons 1 and 6 on your radio. At the same time, turn the ignition on your car to the ON position. Once on, your 10-digit serial number should flash on the radio display.
Once you’ve retrieved both numbers, you’re ready to find the code! You can look up your 2015
