With 37 complaints reported to the NHTSA and 22 from Car Complaints, many Audi Q5 drivers have reported that after 80,000 miles or so, their compact SUV’s engine will start to guzzle too much oil. Constantly needing to refill your engine oil is not only a costly problem, but it could potentially lead to further engine problems if oil starts to seep into the combustion chamber.
Other common problems with the 2012 Q5 include:

- The fuel pump flange may crack
- Interim butyl tape repair may leak
- Carbon build-up may cause decreased fuel economy and power
- Leak detection pump filling the fuel tank with air results in a loud popping noise
As you might have expected, the 2012 Audi Q5 has received six formal recalls from not only the all-too-common airbags issues but for the sunroof glass panel breaking while drivers are on the road and fuel leaks caused by the fuel pump flange and interim butyl tape repair.
