Buc-ee’s: A gas station mecca

Buc-ee’s first debuted in Texas in 1892 and quickly became known for its massive stations across the state. Located between San Antonio and Austin, the New Braunfels Buc-ee’s is the largest of its 34 Texas stations.
The 68,000-square-foot store has gained global attention, in part thanks to YouTubers who flocked to the location to document its fun treats and unique eats. Some even spent a full 24 hours exploring the station. That’s right—the world’s largest gas station is open 24/7 for 365 days a year.
Customers have 24-hour access to fresh food and a car wash from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. And unlike most gas stations, Buc-ee’s has extremely clean bathrooms. In fact, they take pride in it

Exploring the world’s largest gas station, one bite at a time

Buc-ee's is known for carrying their own brand of, well, pretty much everything. Smart business move. While you can still find traditional Pepsi and Coke products, Buc-ee's has lots of unique soda (or pop depending on where you’re from) flavors.
Summer heat in Texas can be extreme. Luckily, the world’s largest gas station has got you covered with 64 ice coolers on the premises.
When it comes to food, Buc-ee’s doesn’t mess around. In the grocery section, you’ll find healthy pre-packaged snacks and fruits for the conscious traveler. The snack section also offers a full wall of specialty candies to gift to family and friends. If you don’t eat them all on the way home, that is.
Brisket anyone? If you’re craving some Texas BBQ, look no further than Buc-ee’s freshly made sandwiches with a unique assortment of sauces. The meat is sliced to order and there’s even a variety of dried meat jerky on display. Don’t forget to add some famous beaver chips!
Beaver nuggets are an iconic staple at the world’s largest gas station. Do they taste like kettle corn? Do they taste like Captain Crunch? You’ll have to try them yourself to decide.
While you’re there, check out a German-influenced Texas snack called a Kolache. One type of Kolache is a pig-in-a-blanket-style sausage in a roll. The other has a sweet filling in the middle of scrumptious dessert bread. You can also opt for the station’s tasty homemade treats like their fudge, cookies, muffins, and cinnamon rolls.
Currently, the company has two stations in Alabama, two stations in Georgia, and two stations in Florida. Buc-cee’s has plans to expand to Colorado, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and South Carolina as well. With 74,000 square feet,
Sevierville, Tennessee
is set to take New Braunfels’ title in 2023.
