Imagine paying more than $4 million for one
luxury car
! What a hoot of a price for the Japanese Aspark Owl. Are the Owl’s crazy acceleration speeds and sleek design worth $4 million dollars? And how would you even go about getting
car insurance
for such an expensive car?

The rare Aspark Owl has the fastest acceleration

The Aspark Owl is an all-electric sports car that started out as a concept in 2017 at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
InsideEVs
talks about how the Owl churns out more than 2,000 horsepower. It’s quite necessary for the car’s incredible acceleration.
Aspark, a Japanese company launched in 2005, has the goal to create the fastest accelerating electric car ever. Supposedly, the Owl can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.72 seconds
Interestingly, some skeptics think it’s unrealistic for the Owl to manage that acceleration speed due to the sheer amount of friction the tires would face when accelerating.
Since we're talking electric cars here, Business Insider notes that Tesla has a Model S Plaid that can accelerate from 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds.
As a comparison, a race car in NASCAR going from 0 to 60 mph requires around 3 to 3.5 seconds.
Modern performance cars are capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds.
That means that this Aspark Owl luxury car accelerates considerably faster than a professional race car! The price tag is starting to make sense.

10 Aspark Owl hypercars are now on sale

According to
Slash Gear
, the Owl is officially on sale in North America.
Only 50 units have been created globally, and 10 of them have been allocated to North America. If this were a real owl, it’d be near extinct.
The 2-door coupé styled car has 4 electric motors. Two in the front and two in the rear for a nice all-wheel-drive.
The hypercar sports a range of 249 miles per charge on a 69-kWh lithium ion battery pack. It also has a top speed of 249 mph.
The Aspark Owl’s design is very eye-catching and stylish. Each part is designed with optimizing aerodynamics in mind, so the car is sleek. So sleek that it’s less than 1 meter tall!
Its carbon fiber body work contains double wishbone suspension. For improved handling, it has hydraulic dampers and torque vectoring.
