How do you find out when your car insurance expires?

I began my car insurance policy a year ago in June, but I don't know exactly when it expires. How can I find that information?

There are a few ways you can check the expiration date of your car insurance policy. You can find your policy expiration date by:
  • Looking at the back of your insurance card
  • Checking your policy online
  • Checking your policy on your provider’s mobile app
  • Calling your agent directly
Most states have required providers by law to send you a cancellation or non-renewal notice. The insurance company may do this via paper mail or email, so check your inbox to make sure you don’t miss your renewal deadline.
If you find that your policy is no longer active, reinstate it or start new coverage right away. Any lapse in coverage can come with financial or legal penalties down the road.
