E Class and the S Class: Similarities and differences

The two brands hail from the same family, and it's not strange that they share some design cues. Some of this shared design includes the front fascia, bold headlights, and dominant grille.
However, the E-class has an overall sportier image with its sculpted sides.
That said, these two vehicles have some differences. The main one is that the E-Class is a mid-size sedan, while the S-Class is a full-size sedan. That means the S-Class has a longer cabin and boot, offering plenty of space for cargo and legroom.
To put this into perspective, the S-Class provides 14-cubic feet of trunk space and 43.8-inches of rear-seat legroom. In comparison, the E-Class comes with 13-cubic feet of trunk space and 36.2-inches of rear-seat legroom. That's not to say it's less comfortable.
In terms of exterior design, the E-Class comes with standard 18-inch alloy wheels and LED exterior lighting. In comparison, the S-Class goes further with an intelligent LED light system and a panoramic moon roof that comes standard.
Although both vehicles are sedans, they are also available as 2-door convertibles. With the roof up, both E-Class and S-Class provide generous amounts of headroom. For greater practicality, opt for the Wagon from the E-Class with its 64 cubic feet of cargo space.

When it comes to interior design, the E-class has one of the best cabins in its class. It comes with plenty of luxurious material, immaculately built quality, and lots of onboard technology.
Inside, both sedans offer similar standard features such as heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. However, the S-Class edges out the E-Class in terms of premium standard features. That is not strange considering it also has a higher sales point.
Some of these features include soft-close doors, genuine leather upholstery, front-seat ventilation, and more. Additionally, the S-Class has Mercedes-Benz ENERGIZING kinetics that adjusts the backrest orientation and lumbar on long drives. That helps reduce back soreness and muscle fatigue.

If you want to get something more powerful, you can opt for its E450, powered by a 3.0L V6 engine. You also go for the AMG E 53 Sedan, which comes with an AMG-enhanced 3.0L six-turbo.
The most powerful of this powertrain is the Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 bi-turbo engine on the AMG E 63 S. It produces 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet in torque.
Meanwhile, the S-Class lineup features a turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine capable of 429-hp. That's a whole lot more power than what the standard E-Class offers. The top speeds from 0-60 MPH in 4.9 seconds, despite being heavier.
