What you need to know about the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06
Make no mistake, Chevy is aiming to take down Ferrari and Lamborghini as the king of top-performance sports cars. In a slick reveal campaign,
"Put the World on Notice" about the new Z06. The Detroit automaker proudly claims that technology used in the Le Mans race and NASCAR will be featured in the Z06.
This is fitting, as the name "Z06" actually refers to an old order code. On the 1963 Corvette, Z06 was an option for buyers to indicate they wanted a track performance Corvette. It was never marketed. The only way for people to know about the Z06 option was by talking with racetrack insiders.
The 2023 Z06 will be a perfect marriage of a street-legal car and a high-performance racing vehicle.
, the new version will still carry a beefy 5.5-liter V-8 that can produce 670 horsepower. Even at those specs, this is not a normal V-8.
The Z06 engine will have a flat-plane crank that enhances performance. The engine will have a unique growl that will certainly rival what’s heard on Ferraris.
Unlike other Z06 models, the 2023 Z06 has an engine that’s placed behind the driver. This gives the new Z06 a different shape that’s similar to the Corvette Stingray. Even with all these improvements, the new Z06 is still expected to be affordable, by sports car standards at least.
No official price has been released, but it’s predicted that it will be around the $90,000 mark.

The fun doesn't end with what's under the hood (or behind the driver in this case). The Z06’s aesthetic design is somehow both nostalgic and futuristic. With a rear wing and dynamic angles, the style is reminiscent of the ‘80s and yet contemporary. You could call it a cross-generational design.
The interior looks more like a cockpit than a typical car interior, and that's a good thing. The steering wheel is square-shaped, accompanied by an infotainment system that is angled with the dash.
While everything about this car was designed for track performance, it still comes with a Bose 10-speaker system and an inbuilt Performance Data Recorder. There's even enough trunk space for two sets of golf clubs.
