2022 is not the first model year for the all-electric Polestar 2, but it is the first year that Polestar has offered a single-motor version of the vehicle. This is an important step for the manufacturer because it will make the Polestar 2 more affordable and more comparable to the Tesla Model 3.
The single-motor Polestar 2 uses a 78-kWh motor, which is the same motor found in the two motor model. This gives the Polestar 2 an impressive range of 265 miles per charge.
