Why is my engine oil turning red?

Just checked on my engine oil to see how soon I need an oil change and the oil is red! Is that a bad thing? Why is my engine oil turning red?

Don’t panic! Your engine oil turning red could be a completely normal occurrence or a sign of a bigger issue.
Fresh oil right out of the bottle is a red-brown amber color. So, there’s a chance that this redness is just its original tint. However, oil changes colors as it is used. Oil darkens with use from dirt, eventually becoming thicker and darker.
Red engine oil, especially later in its lifespan, can also be a sign of trouble. Red oil could mean engine coolant is leaking into your oil, which you’ll want to deal with.
Creamy or brownish oil is usually a sign of a gasket failure, so get that checked out ASAP.
If you’re worried, head to a mechanic to get the issue sorted out.
Just like you check your oil, you should also check your
