How do I know if my car has CAN bus?
How can I check to see if my car has CAN Bus? I bought some CAN bus bulbs because I didn’t realize that you also have to have a CAN bus system in your car to use them. Even if I don’t have the system, would they still work for my car?

You have a few ways to check if your car has CAN bus (or Controller Area Network bus):
- If your car has CAN bus , it will give you a warning when a bulb is out.
- If you want to check whether or not your car has CAN bus, you canremove a lightin your car and start driving. If your car has CAN bus, it should give you a warning message.
- Contact your dealership*. They should provide you with information about your car and the CAN bus.
- Check your owner’s manual for more information about your car’s system. If your car has CAN bus, your manual should list that feature.
Check that your car is compatible with the CAN bus bulbs before installing them. You should never use CAN bus bulbs in a car that doesn’t have a CAN bus system, as this can cause electrical problems for your vehicle.
