It’s important to remember that auto insurance rates can vary significantly, even for the same car model and trim. For instance, driver age has a major impact on rates: an 18-year-old driver will pay a much higher premium for a t Chevrolet Camaro LT insurance policy than a 30-year-old driver.

How'd we get these scores?

Jerry's experts conducted one of the largest car insurance surveys in the United States. We surveyed 15,000 policyholders, in all 50 states, over the span of 18 months. These policyholders hold insurance policies with 87 different insurance companies. We surveyed policyholders to gauge their satisfaction with their insurance carriers in: policy cost, customer service, buying and renewal experience, as well as claim experience. These scores were all reported by real customers of the insurance companies.

How much does Chevrolet Camaro LT insurance cost?

The average cost to insure a Chevrolet Camaro LT is about $103 per month or $1,236 per year for state minimum coverage, while a full coverage policy costs an average of $205 per month or $2,460 per year.
Understanding these averages is a starting point to estimate your car insurance costs, but it’s important to remember these are just averages. The exact price you’ll pay to insure your Chevrolet Camaro LT will depend on your driver profile, vehicle trim level, MSRP, and engine size.
Take a look at the table below to see the average car insurance rates for a Chevrolet Camaro LT.

How much car insurance do you need for a Chevrolet Camaro LT?

There are two options for car insurance coverage:
Choosing the minimum coverage limits in your state is often the cheapest option for your Camaro LT, but it doesn’t cover your vehicle. If you’re involved in a collision with another car or stationary object and your Camaro sustains significant damage, you could be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars in repair or replacement costs—for both you and the other driver. And if you can’t afford to pay, your assets and future finances could be on the line.
Although full coverage insurance costs more, it offers more protection for you and your Camaro LT. Consider limits of 50/100/50 or 100/300/100 for optimal coverage—and also look into additional coverage options, such as
roadside assistance
or
rental reimbursement

How do Chevrolet Camaro LT insurance quotes compare to other Chevrolet Camaro car insurance rates?

Some trims of the Chevrolet Camaro will be more expensive to insure due to larger engines, higher MSRPs, and more tech and luxury features. Higher trim levels of the Camaro have more features that increase the cost of repair or replacement, thereby increasing insurance rates, too.
For example, the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT come standard with a 275-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual or optional eight-speed automatic. The base engine offers decent performance on these three trim levels, but the upgraded 335-hp 3.6L V6 engine delivers more—and higher insurance costs.
Similarly, the more powerful the engine in your Camaro, the better its performance and the higher the risk of being involved in an accident. As this increases your risk to insurers, they’ll charge more to compensate for a higher risk of damage.
If drivers opt for the LT1, which has a standard 6.2-liter V8 engine generating 455 horsepower and other performance-oriented features, insurance rates will climb further.
But it’s not all about performance—upgrading features on lower-trim levels could mean you’ll pay more for insurance than for higher trim levels. For example, adding the Technology package and Heavy-Duty Cooling and Brake package to any LT trims could result in higher issuance costs than for the Camaro SS.
High-performance trims like the Chevy Camaro ZL1 are a higher risk for insurers to cover and have higher repair and replacement costs than lower-level options like the LT trims. Drivers of the LT trims are classified as less risky policyholders and, therefore, will pay less for insurance than drivers of the SS and ZL1 trims.

Chevrolet Camaro LT insurance cost by model year

Your Chevrolet Camaro LT insurance costs depend in part on when your vehicle was manufactured—i.e., the model year.
Newer models tend to be more expensive to insure, thanks to a higher cash value and hard-to-replace tech. If you drive an older Chevrolet Camaro LT model, you’ll likely pay a lower rate.
