How'd we get these scores?

Jerry's experts conducted one of the largest car insurance surveys in the United States. We surveyed 15,000 policyholders, in all 50 states, over the span of 18 months. These policyholders hold insurance policies with 87 different insurance companies. We surveyed policyholders to gauge their satisfaction with their insurance carriers in: policy cost, customer service, buying and renewal experience, as well as claim experience. These scores were all reported by real customers of the insurance companies.

How much does Chevrolet Camaro SS insurance cost?

Chevrolet Camaro SS drivers pay an average of $100 per month or $1,200 per year for state minimum liability and about $215 per month or $2,580 per year for a full coverage auto insurance policy.
While understanding these numbers gives you an idea of how much you can expect to pay to insure your Camaro SS, it’s important to remember that these are just averages. The exact cost you’ll pay to insure your car is influenced by your driver profile, along with the MSRP, engine, and features of your Camaro.
Check out the table below to see the average cost of car insurance for a Chevy Camaro SS.

How much car insurance do you need for a Chevrolet Camaro SS?

There are two options for car insurance for your Camaro:
Purchasing state minimum coverage limits is the cheapest option for Chevrolet Camaro SS insurance but leaves you vulnerable to additional expenses. If you’re involved in a collision, minimum liability only covers third-party damages and injuries—it doesn’t cover damages to your vehicle.
If your limits run out and you can’t afford to cover the remaining expenses for the other party, your assets and future income could be on the line—not to mention, you’ll also be responsible for covering your own injuries and damages.
Most drivers benefit from a full coverage policy with higher liability limits of either 50/100/50 or 100/300/100, and additional coverage options.

How do Chevrolet Camaro SS insurance quotes compare to other Chevrolet Camaro car insurance rates?

The trim level of your Chevrolet Camaro has a big influence on car insurance rates. Trims with more powerful engines, higher MSRPs, and more features typically cost more to insure.
Larger engines enhance vehicle performance, which increases the risk for insurers. As a result, they’ll charge higher premiums to offset the risk.
Compared to the lower trims of the Chevy Camaro—1LS, 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT—the Camaro SS will see higher insurance rates due to a larger engine and more features. Like the LT1, the Camaro 1SS and 2SS have a 455-hp 6.2-L V8 engine; lower trims have a standard 275-hp 2.0-L four-cylinder engine or an optional 225-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine.
But it’s not all about engine and performance—your Camaro SS’s features also influence insurance rates. More tech and luxury add-ons in your Camaro means higher repair and replacement costs, also increasing insurance rates.
Features like Brembo front and rear brakes, a nine-speaker Bose audio system, and customizable ambient lighting are great comfort and convenience features, but they’re more costly to repair or replace in the event of an accident.
While not the legal streetcar version of the Camaro, the Camaro SS’s 455-hp 6.2-L V8 engine immediately makes it a bigger risk to insurers, which drives up insurance rates. But compared to the high-performance 650-hp ZL1, expect insurance rates for the 1SS and 2SS to be cheaper.

Chevrolet Camaro SS insurance cost by model year

Your Chevrolet Camaro SS insurance costs depend in part on when your vehicle was manufactured—i.e., the model year.
Newer models tend to be more expensive to insure, thanks to a higher cash value and hard-to-replace tech. If you drive an older Chevrolet Camaro SS model, you’ll likely pay a lower rate.
