How many miles will wear down 1/32 inch on my tire's tread?

I just installed new tires on my Jeep. I’m just curious—how many miles will wear down 1/32 inch on my tire's tread?

You can expect your tread to go down 1/32 of an inch every 5,000 to 8,000 miles, depending on the tire.
As your tire’s tred wears down, the grooves between your treads will steadily become more shallow. This will eventually affect your car’s grip on the road and can lead to danger with hydroplaning. Thinner tires are also more likely to go flat or become punctured.
Most tires come with 10/32” or 11/32” tread depth. The U.S. Department of Transportation advises drivers to replace tires when they reach 2/32” tread depth.
