We’re happy to help you get your Bluetooth reset in your Mercedes-Benz. We’d normally recommend restarting your device and ensuring Bluetooth is enabled before trying anything else.
Most Bluetooth connectivity issues are sorted by simply restarting the phone or enabling Bluetooth. It’s worth doing before we begin even if your phone is new because hey, you never know.
Let’s start by ensuring Bluetooth is activated in your car. On your infotainment screen, navigate to System and then make sure the little box alongside Activate Bluetooth is marked. If it isn’t, activate Bluetooth and try your connection again. You may already be able to connect to Bluetooth now. If not, read on.
You may need to reset the car’s infotainment system completely. We don’t like recommending this—you’ll lose any information saved to the car, like presets and contacts. It’s the nuclear option, but it’s the only thing you can safely do without messing around with Engineering Mode settings, and most of us shouldn’t do that.
To reset your infotainment system, go back to the System menu where you looked at the “Activate Bluetooth” option earlier. Right below that is a reset button. This will completely reboot and reset your infotainment system. You’ll lose saved information, but it should hopefully restore Bluetooth functionality.
If this doesn’t work, you’ll want to visit a Mercedes-Benz dealership and explain your predicament. They may be able to provide your stereo head unit with a firmware update that corrects the issue. We hope one of these options works for you!
