How can I get a mobile number from a driving license?
I found someone’s driver’s license on the floor of the hotel where I work. How can I get in touch with him so he can pick it up? Can you use somebody’s license number to look up their cellphone number?

While you cannot get a mobile number from a driving license—the database that links driver’s license numbers and personal information is only accessible to police and government institutions—there are other ways to return a lost driver’s license.
The simplest method is to mail the license to the address listed on it. It might take a few weeks, but John Smith should have his license back soon enough. You can even include a note to say hi and let him know where you found it.
Alternatively, you could use the name and address to search the white pages online and see if the search results pull up a phone number. However, this won’t always be successful.
Lastly, you could search for John Smith’s social media accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, or somewhere else. If you can match a face to a name, shoot John a message. He’ll likely be super grateful!
