Can you change your car's locks?

My last relationship didn’t end well, and my ex still has a key to my car. Can I change the locks on a car? How much will it cost?

I’m really sorry to hear that! However, I’m happy to say that in order to change the locks, you just need to call a reputable locksmith, just the same as you would if you
locked your keys in your car
. The cost will likely range from $75 to $225—but high-tech key fobs or locks can cost you extra.
Luckily, it’s a pretty speedy process: replacing your locks should take anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending on how backed up the locksmith is.
