The Coleman's Motor-Vu Drive-In Theatre opened way back in 1947 and has been serving up affordable double-features ever since. You always get two movies for the price of one, and the upgraded digital projection technology ensures a top-notch viewing experience.
The site is also home to a weekend swap meet where you can find great bargains on all your favorite items.
The Motor Vu Drive-In features a range of new releases and blockbuster double-features projected on four giant screens. Pick your feature carefully—you don’t have to stay for the second movie, but you won’t be able to switch to a new screen to watch a different picture.
If you’re only planning to watch the second movie, try to arrive about 30 minutes before it starts.
When you are parking, make sure that two vehicles can fit between each set of poles. Large trucks will need to park near the back of the field.
How to hear the movie
You will need an FM radio to hear the movie. Either listen to the car radio with your car key in the ACCESSORY position or bring a portable radio or boom box.
The indoor snack bar features freshly prepared fare at a great price. Menu items include hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, and candy.
Outside food deliveries are not allowed.
Pro Tip The Motor Vu also hosts a swap meet on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Hunt for bargains and see a movie, all in one place!

The Redwood Drive-In Movie Theatre is a mainstay in the Salt Lake area and has been serving the community since 1948. And the Redwood Swap Meet is a year-round weekend event that continues to bring people together, rain or shine.
The Redwood Theatre might be a classic, but they aren’t afraid of change. They have upgraded to a digital projection system that provides superior picture quality to make your viewing experience even more enjoyable!
The Redwood typically plays double-feature new releases seven nights per week across four different screens. Each screen shows a different pair of movies, but you can’t switch screens once you’ve made your choice.
Large SUVs must park in the back rows. Hatchbacks that extend beyond the car roof should remain shut during the viewing.
How to hear the movie
The Redwood uses an FM transmitter signal to broadcast their audio, so you’ll need to have a working radio. If your car radio doesn’t work, a battery-operated device should do the trick!
The Redwood has a snack bar selling classic movie treats like popcorn, candy, and nachos. You can also bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Not to be confused with the Motor Vu Drive-in listed above, the classic Motor Vu Theater has been in operation since 1949. This locally owned and operated gem offers ticket prices up to 20% lower than the competition. And even the snacks won’t break your budget!
The Motor Vu Theater features a nightly double feature with showings announced online. The movies are almost always new releases.
The box office opens one hour before the show starts on Fridays and Saturdays and 45 minutes before the showings on Sunday through Thursday. Make sure you arrive early because you can’t purchase tickets online!

The Motor Vu Theater uses FM radio to broadcast the movie audio to your car. You will need to have a functioning FM radio to hear the films.

How many drive-ins are left in Utah?
As of 2022, there are five operating drive-in movie theaters left in Utah.
Do you have to leave your car on during a drive-in movie?
There is no need to leave your car running during a drive-in movie, as long as your battery can hold out. You can run the car for a few minutes after parking to give the battery some extra power. And if you do end up with a dead battery, you can ask another audience member to help you with a jumpstart.
Do drive-ins play in the rain?
Drive-in movie theaters will often play in the rain, as long as it is not a severe storm. But it’s probably a good idea to check if the theater is open before heading out.
