Your ascent starts in Fish Lake Valley. Take SR-264 and look for a road leading to “Trail Canyon, Boundary Peak.” You may pass several old mining buildings and casual fishermen. Four-wheel-drive is recommended as well as a high clearance vehicle. Small streams may flood the road at some points and the angle of the road may be difficult for commuter vehicles.
Start early because this hike is challenging and unpredictable. Summer lightning storms are not uncommon! Oh, and prepare for altitude sickness. Remember your water and trekking poles!
