Will the DMV send me my car title after I pay off my car? "

"I am currently living in Georgia, but I bought my car while I lived in Florida. I just made my last payment and was wondering how I can expect to get my title. Will the Florida DMV automatically send it to me or do I need to request it?"

“After you make your last payment, your lender will send a notification to the state’s motor vehicle administration that the loan has been paid off and the lien will be removed from the title. That title will be held in electronic form by the state’s motor vehicle administration. If you want a copy, you will need to request it.
Now onto the issue of which state. When you moved from Florida to Georgia you should have
re registered
your car for that state and in doing so it is very likely that your car title was transferred as well. If you are unsure of which state has your title, you should call your lender and each state’s DMV for help.”
