Will renters insurance cover my employer-owned work laptop if it's damaged or stolen?
My employer gave me a brand-new MacBook so I could work from home. Is it covered by my renters insurance?
In most cases, your renters insurance policy will not cover your work laptop because it is not your property. However, in the event that your employer finds you liable for damage to or loss of the laptop, you may be able to submit a liability claim under your renters insurance. Check with your insurance company to confirm whether you would be covered in this situation.
