liability coverage
on their homeowners policy will typically cover your legal fees resulting from a bodily injury claim or from property damage that you might have caused. But if the other person has filed a personal injury suit against you, that will not be covered because personal injury pertains to incidents that do not involve bodily injury or damage to property, such as slander, false arrest, or libel.
