Will Infinity file an SR-22?

After a rough year financially, I let my car insurance policy lapse and got caught driving uninsured. In order to get my license back I have to submit an SR-22 form. I used to have Infinity car insurance—will they still insure me if I need an SR-22?

Sorry to hear you were going through a tough time. Infinity will file your
SR-22
, but there is a filing fee. SR-22 filing fees vary by state, but they’re usually about $25.
The state requires the SR-22 form to be filed directly from your insurance company. Some insurance companies don’t offer SR-22 filing and will drop a driver who is legally obligated to maintain an SR-22 certificate. Luckily, this isn’t the case with Infinity—they’ll still insure you despite your being classified as a
high-risk driver
.
If you’re convicted of a serious driving violation like a
DUI
or
driving without insurance
, there’s a good chance you’ll be court-ordered to maintain an SR-22 certificate—typically for a period of three years. This certificate proves that you have at least the minimum amount of car insurance required by law in your state.
