Will home insurance cover costs associated with an extermination?
"It looks like my family and I will have to vacate our house so an exterminator can clear out some rodents. Will our home insurance cover the extermination, as well as costs for a hotel stay and takeout/dine-in food?

“Unfortunately, in most cases, homeowners insurance will not cover any costs associated with an extermination. Keeping your home free of pests is considered to be part of maintaining your home. If the damage was somehow preventable and you were negligent in maintaining the property to keep it free of pests, it’s not going to be covered. “
