Will home insurance cover cash lost to mice?

"My grandpa was hiding about $15,000 in bills in a suitcase, but unfortunately some mice got into it and ruined the cash. Will his home insurance cover this loss?

“I regret to tell you that homeowners insurance usually excludes damage caused by vermin, including
mice and rodents
. Review your policy or contact your insurance agent to confirm.
Most policies typically only cover around $200 for cash in the event of a covered loss, so even if the loss is covered, your grandpa will not get the full $15,000 back. If any of the bills are recoverable, I recommend that your grandpa contact his bank to inquire how many of the bills must be intact in order to exchange them.”
