Will Erie Insurance cover a rebuilt title?

I was going to call Erie Insurance to see if they offer coverage for a rebuilt title. I heard they offer some good deals. Will they insure a vehicle with a rebuilt title?

Finding the right insurance really can be a journey—and having mitigating factors, like a car with a
rebuilt title
, only makes it longer. We’re sorry to say that although some insurance companies will cover a rebuilt title, it doesn’t seem like Erie Insurance provides this service. However, if your vehicle was insured with Erie before it was totaled, there may be a small chance that your rebuilt title can be covered.
Whether you’ll be able to get full coverage is another story. It’s more likely that you’ll be eligible for
liability-only insurance
for a car with rebuilt title status. A car with a salvage title will not be considered for insurance coverage.
Once you have a rebuilt title in place, make sure you have the following on hand to optimize your chances of getting insurance coverage:
  • A certified mechanic report
  • An inspection report after repairs have been completed
  • The original cost of repairs
  • Before and after photos of the vehicle
You can call Erie Insurance toll-free at (800) 458-0811. If you would like to try a different company,
GEICO
,
State Farm
, and
Progressive
offer coverage for rebuilt titles.
