Will disconnecting my battery reset my key?

Recently, my car’s key fob has been acting up, and the alarm will sometimes go off even though I didn’t hit the button. I replaced the fob battery but it didn’t help. Will disconnecting my car’s battery reset my key fob?

We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your key fob!
Unfortunately, there’s no clear answer to this question as it depends heavily on the make and model of your car. However, disconnecting your car’s battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it may help to reset the key fob.
Disconnecting your battery for a few minutes won’t harm your car and may help your key fob return to factory settings, but the best place to figure out if this is a viable strategy is in your owner’s manual or at the dealership.
Fixing a malfunctioning key fob is a great way to keep your car safe, but the best way to make sure you’re covered is by signing up for great
