Will being a younger driver with poor credit hurt me when I'm shopping for car insurance?
I'm 24, based in Dallas, and I've got poor credit thanks to some late bill payments. I'm worried I won't be able to find cheap car insurance.
It’s true that having poor credit and being a younger driver can result in more expensive rates. But you should be aware that there are many factors that are used to determine premiums, aside from age and credit history.
For example, your zip code, driving record, claims history, and marital status could all be used to calculate your rates. So you aren’t necessarily doomed to be stuck with an unaffordable insurance bill.
