I’m stumped. I got in my Nissan Altima to go to my niece’s Quinceanera and it wouldn’t start. I had to spend a fortune on a taxi. I just don’t understand why my Altima won’t start!
. Check the fuel gauge, or add gas and try to start the car again.
More complex reasons your Altima may not start:
Corroded battery contacts. These can prevent electricity from flowing to the engine, so it will need to be cleaned.
Bad starter motor. If you hear a clicking sound when you crank the engine, you may need to replace the starter.
Bad alternator. The alternator recharges the battery. You can check this with a voltmeter, and if it’s not producing a charge, it will need to be replaced.
Broken fuel pump. The pump moves fuel to the engine, so your engine won’t be able to start if it fails.
It’s impossible to definitively say why a car won’t start without doing some tests and potentially enlisting a mechanic. Hopefully, you now have a better idea as to what could be the source of the problem.
