Why won’t my car start after replacing the catalytic converter?

My car’s catalytic converter needed to be replaced, so I did the repair myself to save money. However, I followed the replacement steps but my car won’t start. Why won’t my car start after installing a new catalytic converter?

I’m impressed you tackled the repair yourself!
There are several reasons why your car won’t start even after replacing the catalytic converter. In some cases, the issue may be the crankshaft sensor or damper—the crankshaft damper is notorious for coming apart and, if it does, can easily damage the sensor behind it.
Another culprit behind the issue could lie in the fuel system. If the fuel pressure in your car is too low, it will cause fuel to build up in the engine.
Since the catalytic converter is an essential system in your vehicle, the best route is to visit a certified auto mechanic to diagnose the issue. Getting a fresh pair of eyes on the problem may be able to get your car fixed faster than tinkering with it at home.
When it comes to paying for the mechanic, it is a good idea to make sure you have
towing and labor coverage
to help cover the costs. If you don’t have this as part of your
