Why won’t my 2018 Dodge Caravan sliding door open?
I’m going on a vacation with friends, and we’re renting a Dodge Caravan. I’ve been having some trouble with the sliding doors, though. Why won’t my 2018 Dodge Caravan sliding doors open?

There are a couple of things you can try if your 2018
Dodge Caravan
sliding doors won’t open, the first of which is to clean its door tracks. If you can open the door without the automatic sliding door feature, get a paper towel and wipe all the dirt from the door tracks. With enough buildup, your sliding doors may cease to work. Another, albeit slightly more technical, solution is to look at the fuse compartment underneath the steering column. Simply open the compartment, remove the sliding door fuse (fuse J11), and swap it for one of the other fuses of the same type. That could fix the problem!
Regardless, be sure to tell the rental company something is wrong with the door. If it’s something more serious, like the sliding door actuator, it must be serviced by a professional.
