I was researching the best used cars the other day and found that the Lexus IS-F is super reliable. When I went to see how much it costs, though, I was taken aback—why is the Lexus IS-F so expensive?!

produced the IS-F from 2008 to 2014—and with an original starting price of around $60,000, it was definitely on the higher end of the spectrum for sports sedans—even in the luxury category. However, the IS-F comes standard with major equipment and options for upgrades. When it first debuted, the Lexus IS-F was all the rage. Considered an upgrade from the popular IS-series sedan, the IS-F brought more sportiness and modernity to the lineup. From its 5.0-liter V8 producing 416 horsepower and eight-speed automatic transmission to its longevity and high ratings, the IS-F was about as good as a performance sedan gets.
Despite its higher-than-average price tag of between $30,000 and $50,000, the IS-F is known to be a worthy investment—even used.
