Why is my Nissan Altima Not Starting?

I’ve had my Nissan Altima for a few years with no problems. A few days ago it refused to start and hasn’t been able to start successfully. Why is my Nissan Altima not starting all of a sudden?

I’m sorry you’re having trouble getting your Nissan Altima to start! There are a few reasons your Nissan Altima isn’t starting. The most common reasons are a dead battery, a malfunctioning alternator, or a faulty engine starter.
Usually, if your
Nissan Altima
won’t start, part of the car’s electrical system is to blame, like a dead battery or a bad alternator.
If you suspect it’s the battery, you can confirm your suspicion by testing its voltage with a multimeter at home. If you get 12 to 13 volts, your car battery is fine and the issue is elsewhere. If the voltage drops below 12, you’ll need to replace the battery.
If your battery is in good shape, here are other common reasons your Nissan Altima isn’t starting:
  • Broken alternator
  • Battery corrosion
  • Dead key fob battery
  • Broken starter motor
  • Failing alternator
  • Worn out spark plugs
  • Fuel pump failure
You’ll want to bring your car in for service immediately to fix the issue and prevent further damage to your car.
