Why is my Dodge truck bogging down when I accelerate?

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram, and lately, it’s been losing power when I accelerate. I don’t know much about trucks, to be honest—do you have any ideas as to why a Dodge truck would bog down when accelerating?

We’re sorry to hear you’re having issues with your truck! The are, unfortunately, a large number of things that might cause a Dodge truck to bog down on acceleration, including a bad fuel pump or fuel injectors, faulty spark plugs, or problems with a number of different sensors in the engine.
Several drivers with this problem reported that replacing the catalytic converter was the solution, so this might be a good place to start.
If you’re not mechanically inclined, then your best bet will be to have your truck looked at by a trusted mechanic and keep your fingers crossed that it’s nothing major!
