Why is my 2018 Nissan Titan making a ticking noise?

I just bought a used 2018 Nissan Titan, and everything was great for the first few weeks until I started hearing a strange ticking noise coming from it. Can you tell me what this ticking noise might mean?

No one likes to hear strange sounds coming from their car! Your 2018
Nissan Titan
may be making a ticking noise due to a few different issues.
The most common cause for the ticking noise is low oil level. When your Nissan’s engine doesn’t have the proper amount of oil to keep it lubricated, the ticking sound you hear could be a sign. You might want to have your Nissan Titan’s
oil level
checked to make sure you don’t have an oil leak.
Another cause of the ticking may be due to a problem with the Titan’s ignition system. A malfunction with the
alternator
or
battery
may be the root cause of ignition issues—which can also result in damage to the truck’s starter.
There’s also a chance the ticking noise is signaling an exhaust leak. If a crack has developed in the exhaust manifold, ticking may be heard under the hood. An exhaust leak may also trigger the Titan’s
Check Engine Light
.
