Why is gas so expensive in Texas?

I went to get gas yesterday, and I was so shocked by how expensive it was. I couldn’t find anywhere selling it for less than six dollars per gallon! Why are Texas gas prices so high?

Unfortunately, gas isn’t just expensive in
Texas
. Gas prices are rising everywhere largely due to high demand and low supply. As drivers struggle to pay
higher gas prices
, oil companies struggle to supply enough to meet the needs of their customers.
The root cause of this issue is actually Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Following this invasion, President Joe Biden banned all oil and gas imports from Russia in an attempt to establish some economic control. This combined with the overall market upset caused by the invasion has led to higher gas prices all over the United States.
