What Causes Noises When Braking at Low Speeds?
I drive a 2019 Camry that currently has a little over 60,000 miles on it. It runs great. But lately, when driving at speeds less than 30 MPH, I hear a weird thumping noise in the front end. Any idea why a car would make a clunking noise when braking at low speed? It still seems to be stopping okay.

first, as they are the most easily worn-out part of your braking system.A clunking noise when braking at low speed usually indicates worn out or damaged disks, rotors, calipers, or backing plates. It’s also important to check the suspension system, especially the bushings. Any issues with the suspension system will create loose movement when you brake, which will cause clunking.
If you regularly service your own brakes, you can probably check these parts yourself, but you may want to have a mechanic put your
Camry
on a lift and check for any other loose bolts or compromised parts. Because your braking system needs to be replaced several times over the life of your car, this repair is fairly common. Even if you need to replace the entire system—which is unlikely—the repair should not cost more than $800.
