Why did my car insurance in California go up?

My policy is set to renew and I just found out my premium is going up from $1,000 to $2,500. I'm 21 and don't have any tickets or accidents on my record. I've been with the same carrier for the last three years and have never had a rate increase. Why would the premium go up now?

“There are many reasons why your car insurance premium could increase. Car insurance companies all have different ways of rating policies.
These rates can depend on a multitude of factors. Where you live, changing coverages, adding people to your policy, or even the type of vehicle you have can impact on your car insurance premium. The
average cost of car insurance
also varies from state to state.
If you’re unsure as to why your premium changed, you should reach out to your insurance carrier directly. They will be able to provide you with answers.

car insurance quotes online
is a great way to look up other carriers and possibly find a more affordable premium.
