Why am I being declined for home insurance?

I already have a policy for my current home; why would I keep getting denied for my new home? I am closing on a new home and everything is all set to go except for the insurance policy. For some reason, I keep getting declined for homeowners coverage and I am not sure why.

“There are a few reasons that you may be declined for a
homeowners policy
.
The best place to start would be to ask the carriers directly why you are being denied; they should be able to give you an answer.
One reason can be a low credit score. However, since you just qualified for a home loan, I do not think this is the case.
Make sure your realtor has a copy of the home’s prior loss history. It is possible that the home has had several insurance claims, and now insurance carriers deem it a high risk. If this is true, see if a copy of an updated home inspection will allow for reconsideration.
One option that will make things easier for you is to get several home insurance quotes at once. When using free
Jerry
app, you get prices from over 50 carriers delivered to your app within moments.”
