Who pays when a golf ball hits your car?

I can't believe the odds of this, but a golf ball hit my car when I met my friend for lunch at the golf club. It caused a dent in the front hood. Who pays for the damages?

“While it may seem unlikely, damage from golf balls is common! Since you were on private property and patrons of the club’s restaurant, you can ask if the club has an insurance policy to deal with this kind of damage.
In some cases, since you were parked in a parking lot, businesses will waive liability. You’ll often see signs that say Park at your own risk or We’re not liable for damage. If you’re a club member, there could also be a stipulation in the membership rules regarding damage.
With that said, you still have options! If you have full coverage
car insurance
, you can submit a claim.
Comprehensive insurance
often covers projectiles and falling objects. Your deductible will apply, though.
If the dent costs only $100 to repair and your deductible is $250, your insurance won’t cover anything and you’d have to fix the dent out of pocket.
Should you not have comprehensive insurance or want additional coverage, try shopping around for a new policy. Adding or changing your insurance policy is a great time to look at other options. You can request car insurance quotes online yourself or try using the

app. Jerry is a licensed broker that finds you the best rates for the coverage you require without the hassle of dealing with insurance companies. And the best part–Jerry does all of this for free.”
