Who owns Subaru?

I’ve read that a lot of automakers are owned by other companies, but I wasn’t sure if that was true for all of them. Does another company own Subaru?

Founded in 1953, Subaru is its own corporation, so it’s not owned by a parent company. However, Subaru Motors is just part of the company’s offerings, as the company also has an aerospace division that manufactures planes and helicopters.
However, prior to 2017, Subaru was known as Fuji Heavy Industries, LTD, and Subaru was simply the name of the automobile division. This changed on April 1, 2017, when the board of directors voted to change the name to the Subaru Corporation.
One aspect of note is that
Toyota
increased its stake in Subaru by 20% in 2020, giving it a sizable amount of influence in the company. But rather than have a forceable influence, most analysts agree that this is more of a search for allies—especially due to the uncertain future of automobile manufacturing.
So if you decide to buy a Subaru, you’re not getting some other company cleverly disguised. You’re getting a brand with nearly 70 years in the industry. Ready to buy? Download the
