Who makes electric car charging stations?
It’s easy to tell who makes a certain electric car because it’s in the car name. But do those car companies provide the charging stations too? Who makes electric car charging stations?

What a good question! Electric car charging stations are made by many different companies, including ChargePoint and Blink.
There are many other charging station creators, such as ABB and BP. Shell, an energy giant, has also been investing in greener alternatives and electric charging sites.

As of December 2021, the United States has nearly 46,000 public charging sites. This is a pretty great increase from 19,000 charging stations in 2019.
For comparison, there are more than 150,000 gas stations. President Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure package, recently passed by Congress, includes $7.5 billion that will go toward a network of 500,000 EV charging stations by 2030.
So it is likely that many more electric car charging station manufacturers will pop up in the next decade as the U.S. shifts towards an electric future.
