Let’s break that down.The 2022 Subaru Forester starts at $27,070 while the 2022 CR-V starts at $28,045. The top-tier Forester Touring goes up to $36,420 while the high-end CR-V Touring prices out at $37,745 to start. The CR-V also offers a hybrid option spanning starting price tags from $33,255 to $39,045.
Both the CR-V’s 190-hp, turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder and 212-hp, hybrid 2.0L four-cylinder engine options fare better than the Forester’s sole 182-hp, 2.5L four-cylinder. Granted, the Forester gets better safety ratings, but both are still considered very safe by national auditors like the NHTSA and IIHS.
