Which is faster, the G37 or Q50?

I’m trying to decide which used Infiniti to buy, and I’ve narrowed my choices down to a 2009 G37 Journey or a 2014 Q50 Hybrid Premium. I want to make sure it will be a speedy model. Which one is faster, the Infiniti Q50 or the Infiniti G35?

If you’re looking at each car’s acceleration speed from 0 to 60 mph, the Infiniti Q50 is faster than the G37. The 2014
Q50 Hybrid Premium
goes from 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds, while the 2009
G37 Journey
sedan goes from 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds.
Of course, these numbers will change depending on the trim level, body type, and model year that you choose. The G37 was only manufactured from 2008 to 2009, so your options are more limited, while the Q50 has been in production for the last eight years.
Here are the acceleration times from 0 to 60 mph for a few other used models:
  • 2008 G37 Sport 6MT coupe: 5.4 seconds
  • 2009
    G37 Journey
    convertible: 6.0 seconds
  • 2014
    Q50 Premium
    : 5.5 seconds
  • 2016 Q50 Hybrid: 5.3 seconds
